Not sure it is the brake pads and rotors?
A Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the brake pads and rotors are the problem, book Diagnose Brake System instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the brake pads and rotors? Signs to watch for
- You hear a high squeal when you press the brake pedal.
- You hear grinding, like metal on metal, when the car slows down.
- The steering wheel shakes when braking from road speed.
- The brake pedal pulses under your foot during a normal stop.
- The car takes more pedal pressure to slow down than it used to.
- A brake pad wear message is on the dash.
- You see deep grooves on the rotor face through the wheel.
- The brakes make a scraping sound after the car has been sitting.
- The car feels smooth while driving, but vibrates only when braking.
- You smell hot brakes after normal driving.
Brake pads, rotors or calipers?
Brake pads are the friction material. Rotors are the discs the pads squeeze. Worn pads can squeal or grind, and worn or heat-spotted rotors can make the pedal pulse or the steering wheel shake. A sticking caliper can cause uneven wear, heat smell, pulling, or one wheel that gets much hotter than the others. If the cause is not clear, book Diagnose Brake System instead of Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement.
What happens if you wait
Pads keep getting thinner as you drive. Once the friction material is gone, the metal backing contacts the rotor and the grinding gets worse. Rotors can become grooved, rusted on the braking surface, or heat damaged. Waiting can also put more heat into the calipers and brake fluid, which can turn a normal brake job into more work later.

What it costs, and how the price is set
Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The estimate depends on your vehicle's year, make and model, and whether the front or rear brakes are being replaced. It includes the brake pads, rotors, parts and labor, cleaning and lubricating the caliper brackets and pins, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the brake pads and rotors in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Can you replace brake pads without rotors?
+
Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement replaces the pads and rotors together. New pads need a smooth rotor surface so they can seat correctly and brake evenly.
Can you replace parking brake shoes at the same visit?
+
Yes, when Parking Brake Shoes and Drums/Rotors Replacement is on the approved estimate. Add it to your request so it is quoted with the brake work, and the technician brings the parts for the approved work. Anything found on site is quoted for a later visit.
How long does a Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement take?
+
Usually one to three hours. It depends on your vehicle's year, make and model, whether the front or rear brakes are being replaced, wheel hardware condition, and how the caliper brackets and pins come apart.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
Do I need front brakes or rear brakes?
+
Front and rear brakes wear at different rates. If you already know which axle needs work, choose that option when you request Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement. If you are not sure, book Diagnose Brake System instead.
Why does my steering wheel shake when I brake?
+
A shake in the steering wheel while braking often comes from front rotors with uneven friction surfaces. A shake felt more through the seat can come from the rear brakes. Suspension and tire problems can feel similar, so book Diagnose Brake System if the cause is uncertain.
Will new brake pads and rotors stop the squeaking?
+
If the squeak is from worn pads, glazed pads, or rotor surface wear, Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement is the right repair. Some brake noises come from calipers, hardware, dust shields, parking brake parts, or suspension parts. If you are not sure, start with Diagnose Brake System.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the brake pads and rotors warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the brake pads and rotors is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
