EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor

Yes, we replace brake shoes and drums where the car is parked

The technician brings the brake shoes and drums to your home or office and installs them on the axle in your request. They adjust the drum brakes and do a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.

Not sure it is the brake shoes and drums?

A brake shoes and drums replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the brake shoes and drums are the problem, book Diagnose Brake System instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.

Is it the brake shoes and drums? Signs to watch for

  • You hear grinding from the wheels with drum brakes.
  • The brakes squeak or scrape when you slow down.
  • The brake pedal has to travel farther before the car slows.
  • The car shudders when braking because a drum is no longer smooth.
  • The brakes grab suddenly instead of coming on evenly.
  • The car pulls to the side when the drum brakes are applied.
  • A rear wheel locks up easier than the others during a stop.
  • The parking brake feels weak when it uses the same rear shoes.
  • You smell hot brake lining after normal driving.
  • Brake dust or rust powder collects around the drum area.

Brake shoes and drums, or pads and rotors?

Drum brakes use curved shoes that press outward inside a round drum. Disc brakes use pads that squeeze a flat rotor. The symptoms can feel alike, but the parts are different. If your car has drum brakes on the axle in your request, Brake Shoes and Drums Replacement is the repair. If it has disc brakes, the related repair is Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement.

What happens if you wait

Worn brake shoes lose lining and stop contacting the drum evenly. The drum can become grooved or out of round, which causes scraping, grabbing, pedal travel and vibration. The brake adjuster has less room to work as the parts wear, so the pedal can feel lower and the parking brake can hold less firmly.

What it costs, and how the price is set

Brake Shoes and Drums Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your car's year, make, model, axle, drum design and the parts listed. It includes brake shoes, drums, parts and labor, brake adjustment, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.

Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace the brake shoes and drums in my parking garage?

+

Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.

Can you replace front and rear drum brakes?

+

Yes, when the axle is. Some vehicles use rear drums only, and some older designs use front drums.

Can you do brake pads and rotors at the same visit?

+

Yes, when you add Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement to your request and it is on the approved estimate. The technician brings the parts for the approved work. Work that is not on the estimate is quoted for a later visit.

How long does a brake shoes and drums replacement take?

+

Usually one to three hours. It depends on the year, make, model, axle, rust around the drums, and how the brake hardware is arranged.

Do I need to be there?

+

Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.

Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?

+

No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.

Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.

If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

+

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.

Is Brake Shoes and Drums Replacement the same as brake pads and rotors?

+

No. Brake shoes and drums are used on drum brake systems. Brake pads and rotors are used on disc brake systems. If your car needs disc brake work, request Brake Pads and Rotors Replacement instead.

What if my brake pedal still feels low?

+

A low pedal can come from brake shoe wear, drum adjustment, hydraulic parts or air in the brake fluid. Brake Shoes and Drums Replacement is not a diagnostic appointment. If the cause is uncertain, book Diagnose Brake System instead.

Why do drum brakes grab or lock up?

+

Drum brakes can grab when the shoe lining is worn unevenly, the drum surface is rough, or the shoes are out of adjustment. If you are not sure what is causing it, choose Diagnose Brake System before booking a repair.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

+

Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.

How do I pay?

+

EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.

What does the brake shoes and drums warranty cover?

+

The EZCC Service Warranty on the brake shoes and drums is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
