EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor

Yes, we replace brake master cylinders where the car is parked

The technician brings the brake master cylinder to your home or office and installs it. They reconnect the brake lines, fill the brake fluid, bleed the hydraulic system, and do a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.

Not sure it is the brake master cylinder?

A Brake Master Cylinder Replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the brake master cylinder is the problem, book Diagnose Brake System instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.

Is it the brake master cylinder? Signs to watch for

  • The brake pedal slowly sinks while you hold pressure at a stop.
  • The pedal goes low before the car starts to slow down.
  • You have to pump the brake pedal to get a firm pedal.
  • The pedal feels firm for a moment, then loses pressure.
  • The brake warning light comes on with a low or soft pedal.
  • Brake fluid level drops with no puddle under the car.
  • Brake fluid is wet around the back of the master cylinder.
  • The car needs more pedal travel to stop than it used to.
  • The brakes feel spongy even after brake fluid service.
  • Brake fluid is found where the master cylinder meets the brake booster.

Master cylinder, brake booster or air in the lines?

The brake master cylinder makes hydraulic pressure for the brake system. When its internal seals bypass fluid, the pedal can sink while your foot stays still. A brake booster problem usually gives a hard pedal with less assist. Air in the brake lines gives a spongy pedal, often after hydraulic work or low fluid.

What happens if you wait

A failing brake master cylinder can lose pressure more often as the seals wear. The pedal may travel farther before the brakes respond, and stopping distance can increase. If brake fluid leaks into the booster, the booster can also be damaged.

What it costs, and how the price is set

Brake Master Cylinder Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your car's year, make, model, brake layout and access to the master cylinder. It includes the brake master cylinder, parts and labor, brake fluid, hydraulic bleeding, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.

Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace the brake master cylinder in my parking garage?

+

Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.

Do you bleed the brakes after replacing the master cylinder?

+

Yes. After the brake master cylinder is installed, the technician fills the brake fluid and bleeds the hydraulic system so pedal pressure can return.

Can a brake fluid flush fix a bad master cylinder?

+

No. A brake fluid flush can remove old fluid or air, but it cannot repair worn internal seals inside the brake master cylinder. If you only need fluid service, request Brake Fluid Flush/Bleed.

How long does a Brake Master Cylinder Replacement take?

+

Usually one to three hours. It depends on the year, make, model, brake layout, where the master cylinder sits, and how the brake lines and reservoir connect.

Do I need to be there?

+

Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.

Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?

+

No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.

Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.

If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

+

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.

Can a bad brake master cylinder make the pedal go to the floor?

+

Yes. When the internal seals in the brake master cylinder bypass fluid, the pedal can sink even while your foot pressure stays the same.

What if the brake booster is the problem?

+

A brake booster problem usually gives a hard pedal, not a sinking pedal. If you are not sure which brake part is causing the symptom, book Diagnose Brake System instead.

Can you replace the master cylinder if there is a brake fluid leak?

+

Yes, when the approved estimate is for Brake Master Cylinder Replacement. If the leak source is not known, book Diagnose Fluid Leak or Diagnose Brake System first.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

+

Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.

How do I pay?

+

EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.

What does the brake master cylinder warranty cover?

+

The EZCC Service Warranty on the brake master cylinder is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
