EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor

Yes, we replace brake boosters where the car is parked

The technician brings the brake booster to your home or office. They remove the parts needed for access, replace the booster, reconnect the pedal linkage, master cylinder and assist lines, and bleed the brake system when hydraulic lines are opened. They also do the complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.

Not sure it is the brake booster?

A brake booster replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the brake booster is the problem, book Diagnose Brake System instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.

Is it the brake booster? Signs to watch for

  • The brake pedal feels hard and takes much more leg pressure.
  • The car stops, but only after you push the pedal hard.
  • The pedal stays high and hard after the engine is running.
  • A hissing sound comes from under the dash when the brake pedal is pressed.
  • The engine idle changes when you press the brake pedal.
  • The engine runs rough or stalls when you hold the brake at a stop.
  • The brake pedal feels normal for a moment, then gets hard again.
  • Stopping takes more distance even though the pedal does not sink.
  • The pedal effort is worse in stop-and-go driving.

Brake booster or master cylinder?

A brake booster problem is usually about pedal effort. The pedal feels hard, high, and unassisted because the booster is not adding force for your foot. A master cylinder problem is usually about pedal travel. The pedal may sink, feel spongy, or need pumping to build pressure.

What happens if you wait

A weak brake booster makes the car harder to stop because your foot has to do the work the booster used to do. If the booster has a vacuum leak, the engine may idle rough or stall when the brake pedal is pressed. The brakes may still work, but the pedal effort can become too high for normal driving.

What it costs, and how the price is set

Brake Booster Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your year, make, model, engine, assist type and where the booster sits. It includes the brake booster, parts and labor, the brake fluid item listed for this service, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.

Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace the brake booster in my parking garage?

+

Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.

Will Brake Booster Replacement fix a spongy brake pedal?

+

Usually not. A spongy or sinking pedal points more toward air in the brake fluid, a fluid leak, or a master cylinder problem. If the symptom is not clearly a hard pedal, book Diagnose Brake System instead.

Why does my engine run rough when I press the brake pedal?

+

Many brake boosters use engine vacuum. A leak at the booster or its hose can let extra air into the engine when the pedal is pressed, which can cause rough idle or stalling.

How long does a brake booster replacement take?

+

Usually one to three hours. It depends on your vehicle's year, make, model, engine, whether the booster is vacuum or hydraulic assist, and how much access there is under the hood and dash.

Do I need to be there?

+

Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.

Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?

+

No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.

Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.

If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

+

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.

Can a bad brake booster make the pedal hard?

+

Yes. A brake booster adds assist so the pedal does not need as much leg pressure. When it fails, the pedal can feel high and hard, and the car takes more effort to stop.

Do the brakes need to be bled after replacing the brake booster?

+

Only when hydraulic lines are opened for access. On some vehicles the master cylinder can be moved without opening the brake lines, so bleeding is not always part of the job.

Is a hard brake pedal always the brake booster?

+

No. A hard pedal can also come from a vacuum hose, vacuum pump, hydraulic assist issue, or another brake system fault. If you are not sure, choose Diagnose Brake System instead of booking the repair.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

+

Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.

How do I pay?

+

EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.

What does the brake booster warranty cover?

+

The EZCC Service Warranty on the brake booster is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
