Belt Replacement at Your Home or Office
You hear a squeal from the front of the engine, or the battery light came on after a belt noise. An experienced mobile mechanic comes to your home or office across Northern Virginia, nearby Maryland and Washington, DC, and replaces the belt where the car is parked. EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor
Yes, we replace belts where the car is parked
The technician brings the belt to your home or office and installs it where the car is parked. The belt is routed over the pulleys for your engine and tensioned the way the vehicle is built. The visit also includes a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.
Not sure it is the belt?
A belt replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the belt is the problem, book Diagnose Unusual Sounds instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the belt? Signs to watch for
- A high-pitched squeal comes from the front of the engine when you start the car.
- The squeal gets louder when you turn the steering wheel.
- The noise starts when the AC is turned on.
- The battery warning light comes on while the engine is running.
- The steering suddenly feels heavy on a car with a belt-driven power steering pump.
- The AC stops blowing cold air on a car with a belt-driven compressor.
- The temperature gauge climbs after a belt noise or after the belt comes off.
- You smell hot rubber near the engine bay.
- The belt looks cracked, shiny, frayed or missing ribs.
- A slapping or flapping noise comes from the belt area.
Belt, tensioner or pulley?
The belt turns parts like the alternator, AC compressor and power steering pump. A worn belt can squeal, slip, crack or come off. A weak tensioner or a rough idler pulley can make the same noise and can throw a new belt off track. If you are not sure which part is making the noise, book a diagnostic appointment instead of Belt Replacement.
What happens if you wait
A slipping belt can stop turning the alternator enough to keep the battery charged. If the belt breaks or comes off, the car may lose charging, power steering assist, AC, and on some engines the water pump. When the water pump stops turning, the engine can overheat.

What it costs, and how the price is set
Belt Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your year, make, model, engine, belt layout and which belt is being replaced. It includes the belt, parts and labor, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the belt in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Can a bad belt make the battery light come on?
+
Yes. The belt turns the alternator. If the belt slips, breaks or comes off, the alternator cannot keep the battery charged while the engine runs.
Can you replace the belt tensioner or idler pulley at the same visit?
+
Yes, when it is on the approved estimate. Add Belt Tensioner Replacement or Idler Pulley Replacement to your request so the technician brings the parts for the approved work. Anything found on site is quoted for a later visit.
How long does a belt replacement take?
+
Usually about an hour. It depends on your vehicle's year, make, model and engine, how tight the belt area is, and whether the belt is a main serpentine belt or a separate accessory belt.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
How do I know if my serpentine belt is bad?
+
Common signs are squealing at startup, chirping from the belt area, visible cracking, missing ribs, a shiny glazed surface, or a belt that has come off. A battery light with belt noise can also point to a slipping belt because the alternator is not being turned correctly.
Will Belt Replacement fix my AC or power steering?
+
It can when the AC compressor or power steering pump is driven by that belt and the belt is the problem. If the AC or steering problem is not clearly belt related, book Diagnose / Troubleshoot instead.
What if the belt is making noise but I am not sure why?
+
Book Diagnose Unusual Sounds instead of Belt Replacement. A repair appointment does not include testing or troubleshooting.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the belt warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the belt is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
