Not sure it is the wheel bearing / hub assembly?
A wheel bearing / hub assembly replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the wheel bearing / hub assembly is the problem, book Diagnose Unusual Sounds instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the wheel bearing / hub assembly? Signs to watch for
- A humming, growling or rumbling noise gets louder with road speed.
- The noise changes when the car leans during a turn.
- You feel a rough vibration through the floor, seat or steering wheel.
- The sound seems to come from a corner of the car, not from the engine.
- The wheel area feels hot after a drive without heavy braking.
- The ABS or traction control light comes on with the wheel noise.
- You hear a grinding sound from the hub area while rolling.
- The steering feels loose or the car wanders more than usual.
- The tire on that corner wears unevenly.
- A clunk comes from the wheel area over bumps or when shifting from drive to reverse.
Wheel bearing, tire, brake or CV axle?
A wheel bearing noise follows road speed. It often gets louder as the car rolls faster and can change when the weight of the car shifts in a turn. Tire noise also follows road speed, but it often changes with pavement. Brake noise usually changes when you press the brake pedal. A CV axle usually clicks during a tight turn under power, instead of making a steady growl while rolling straight.
What happens if you wait
A worn wheel bearing usually gets louder as the metal surfaces wear. Heat and wheel play can follow. That movement can upset the ABS wheel speed signal, wear the tire unevenly, and put extra load on nearby brake and suspension parts. If the noise has turned into grinding or the wheel feels loose, the car should not be driven until the problem is handled.

What it costs, and how the price is set
Wheel Bearing / Hub Assembly Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. Your estimate depends on your vehicle's year, make, model, drivetrain, and which wheel position is being repaired. It includes the wheel bearing / hub assembly, parts and labor, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the wheel bearing / hub assembly in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Is a wheel bearing noise different from tire noise?
+
A wheel bearing usually makes a steady hum or growl that follows road speed and may change when the car leans in a turn. Tire noise often changes with the road surface and may sound more even across the car.
Can you replace bearings on both sides at the same visit?
+
Yes, when each wheel position is on the approved estimate. Add those positions to your request so they are quoted. Work that is not on the estimate is quoted for a later visit.
How long does a wheel bearing / hub assembly replacement take?
+
Usually one to two hours. It depends on the vehicle's year, make, model, engine and drivetrain layout, where the hub sits in the suspension, rust around the hub, and whether the bearing is a bolt-on hub or a pressed-in bearing.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
Can I drive with a bad wheel bearing?
+
A noisy wheel bearing can get worse and create wheel play. If the noise is grinding, the wheel area is hot, or the car feels unstable, avoid driving it and book the repair or a diagnostic if you are not sure.
Do you replace just the bearing or the whole hub assembly?
+
It depends on the vehicle design. Many vehicles use a bolt-on hub assembly, while others use a pressed-in bearing. The written estimate is based on your car and the wheel position being repaired.
Why did my ABS light come on with the wheel bearing noise?
+
Many hub assemblies carry the wheel speed sensor or the tone ring the sensor reads. When the hub gets loose or the signal drops out, the ABS and traction control systems can turn on warning lights.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the wheel bearing / hub assembly warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the wheel bearing / hub assembly is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
