EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor

Yes, we replace axles and drive shafts where the car is parked

The technician brings the axle or shaft to your home or office and installs it. They secure the axle nut or shaft fasteners, refit the parts removed for access, and complete the complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.

Not sure it is the CV axle or drive shaft?

A CV axle / drive shaft replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the CV axle or drive shaft is the problem, book Diagnose Unusual Sounds instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.

Is it the CV axle or drive shaft? Signs to watch for

  • A sharp clicking noise comes from the front of the car when you turn.
  • The clicking gets louder when you accelerate through a turn.
  • The car shakes under acceleration, then smooths out when you let off the gas.
  • A clunk happens when shifting from park into drive or reverse.
  • A rhythmic thump comes from under the car while it is moving.
  • Grease is sprayed around the inside of the wheel or near the suspension.
  • A rubber CV boot is split or hanging open behind the wheel.
  • The steering wheel shakes during acceleration, not just while braking.
  • The engine revs in gear, but the car barely moves after a hard clunk.

CV axle, drive shaft, wheel bearing or brakes?

An outer CV joint usually clicks on turns. An inner CV joint often shakes under acceleration. A drive shaft problem can thump or vibrate through the floor. A wheel bearing usually makes a steady hum that changes with road speed, and brake noise usually changes when the brake pedal is pressed.

What happens if you wait

A torn CV boot lets grease out and road grit in. The joint then wears faster, and the clicking can turn into clunking or shaking. If the joint or shaft separates, the car may lose drive to that wheel or driveline.

What it costs, and how the price is set

CV Axle / Drive Shaft Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your year, make, model, drive layout, which axle or shaft is being replaced, and how much of the suspension or exhaust has to be moved for access. It includes parts and labor, replacing the CV axle or drive shaft, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.

Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace the CV axle or drive shaft in my parking garage?

+

Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.

Can you replace a CV axle if the boot is torn?

+

Yes, when the axle is the part. A torn boot lets grease out and dirt in, so the joint can wear and start clicking or binding.

Can you replace just the CV joint or U joint?

+

That is a different repair. If you want that quoted instead, request CV Joint / U Joint Replacement.

How long does a CV axle / drive shaft replacement take?

+

Usually two to four hours. It depends on your vehicle's year, make, model, engine, where the axle or shaft sits, and how much suspension, exhaust, or underbody cover has to be removed.

Do I need to be there?

+

Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.

Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?

+

No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.

Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.

If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

+

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.

Is a clicking noise when turning a bad CV axle?

+

A sharp click on tight turns is a common sign of an outer CV joint problem. If you are not sure, book Diagnose Unusual Sounds instead of a repair.

Is a CV axle the same as a drive shaft?

+

Not always. A CV axle usually sends power to a wheel, while a drive shaft usually sends power along the vehicle to another driveline part. Your estimate shows the option that fits your car.

Can I keep driving with a bad CV axle or drive shaft?

+

Light clicking can turn into clunking, shaking, or binding as the joint wears. If the shaft separates, the car may not move under its own power.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

+

Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.

How do I pay?

+

EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.

What does the CV axle or drive shaft warranty cover?

+

The EZCC Service Warranty on the CV axle or drive shaft is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
