EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor
Yes, we replace starters where the car is parked
The technician brings the starter to your home or office and installs it. They reconnect the starter wiring and do a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.
Not sure it is the starter?
A starter replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the starter is the problem, book Car Is Not Starting Diagnostics instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the starter? Signs to watch for
- You turn the key or press Start and hear one loud click, but the engine does not crank.
- The dash lights come on like normal, but the engine does not turn over.
- The starter grinds when you try to start the car.
- You hear a whirring sound, but the engine does not crank.
- The car starts after several tries, then does nothing the next time.
- It will not crank after a hot drive, then cranks again after it cools.
- A jump start does not change the no-crank problem.
- The battery has already been replaced, but the same click or no-crank symptom is still there.
- You smell hot electrical odor after holding the key or Start button too long.
- The car starts only after you tap near the starter area.
Starter or battery?
A battery problem usually gives a slow crank, dim lights or fast clicking, and a jump start may get the car going. A starter problem usually gives one loud click, a grind, a whir, or silence while the dash lights look normal. If the symptom is not clear, book Car Is Not Starting Diagnostics instead of Starter Replacement.
What happens if you wait
A failing starter often works some days and refuses the next. The solenoid, motor or drive gear can stop engaging, so the engine never turns over. Repeated tries can heat the starter wiring and can make grinding worse when the starter gear is not meshing cleanly.

What it costs, and how the price is set
Starter Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. Your estimate depends on your car's year, make, model and engine, and where the starter sits. It includes the starter, parts and labor, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.
Warranty
12 months / 12,000 miles on the starter and the workmanship, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the starter in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Will a jump start help if the starter is bad?
+
Usually no. A jump start helps when the battery is weak. If the starter motor or solenoid is failing, extra battery power may not make the engine crank.
What if it is the starter relay, fuse or cable instead?
+
Those are separate from Starter Replacement. If you are not sure the starter itself is the problem, book Car Is Not Starting Diagnostics so the cause can be found and the right repair can be quoted.
How long does a starter replacement take?
+
Usually one to three hours. It depends on the year, make, model and engine, and where the starter sits. Some starters are reached from above, while others are low under the engine or behind parts that have to come off first.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
Is it the starter or the battery?
+
If the engine cranks slowly, the lights are dim, or a jump start gets it going, the battery is more likely. If you get one loud click, grinding, whirring, or no crank with normal dash lights, the starter may be the cause. If you are not sure, book Car Is Not Starting Diagnostics instead.
Can a bad starter click but not crank?
+
Yes. One loud click can be the starter solenoid moving without the starter motor turning the engine. That can happen when the starter has worn contacts, a weak motor, or a drive gear that is not engaging.
Can you replace the starter if my car will not start at work?
+
Yes, when the car is parked where there is safe room to work around it. The technician comes to your office parking spot and replaces the starter.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the starter warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the starter is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
