Car Is Not Starting Diagnostics at Your Home or Office
The car will not start, and you do not know why. An experienced mobile mechanic comes to your home or office across Northern Virginia, nearby Maryland and Washington, DC, finds the cause where the car is parked, and quotes the repair. Same-day when the schedule has room.

Yes, we find out why the car will not start, where it is parked
The technician comes to the car and works from the symptom to the cause: the battery and its connections, the starter circuit, the fuel delivery and ignition systems, and the electrical faults the car has stored as codes. You get the cause explained in plain words and a separate estimate for the repair. The price covers the diagnosis, billed hourly.
Already know what is wrong?
If you know it is the battery or the starter, book the repair directly: Car Battery Replacement or Starter Replacement. Each is a repair appointment with its own written estimate. If you are not sure, this diagnostic is the place to start.
A car that will not start: what we see
- You turn the key or press Start and get one click, or fast clicking, and nothing.
- The dash lights come on, but the engine does not crank.
- The engine cranks and cranks but never catches.
- It cranks slowly, especially on a cold morning.
- It starts, runs for a few seconds, then dies.
- It starts some days and not others.
- A jump start got it going, but it died again soon after.
- Nothing happens at all: no lights, no sound, no dash.
- A security or key light flashes when you try to start it.
- It has sat for weeks and will not start now.
Battery, starter, fuel or ignition?
A flat battery usually gives a slow crank or fast clicking, and a jump start gets the car going. A starter fault often gives one loud click with a healthy battery, or nothing at all with the lights bright. If the engine cranks normally but never catches, the cause is usually fuel delivery, ignition or an electrical fault: a fuel pump that has quit, no spark, a failed sensor or relay, or a security system blocking the start. The symptoms overlap, and that is what the diagnostic sorts out.
Why diagnose before replacing parts
A new battery fitted to a car with a dead fuel pump leaves the car exactly as it was. A starter replaced for a bad ground wire does the same. Each guess costs a part, a visit and a day without the car. One diagnostic visit finds the actual cause, so the repair you approve is the right one, and only that one.

What it costs, and how the price is set
Car Is Not Starting Diagnostics is priced for your car on the written estimate. Diagnostics are billed hourly, and most causes are found within the first hour; an intermittent fault or one buried under other parts can take longer. The repair itself is quoted separately once the cause is known.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you diagnose it in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Should I try a jump start first?
+
If a jump start gets the car running and keeps it running, the battery is the likely cause and you can book Car Battery Replacement directly. If it dies again, will not crank at all, or cranks without starting, book the diagnostic.
How long does a no-start diagnostic take?
+
Usually about an hour. Diagnostics are billed hourly, and an intermittent fault or one buried under other parts can take longer.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
What does a no-start diagnostic cover?
+
The technician works from the symptom to the cause: the battery and its connections, the starter circuit, the fuel delivery and ignition systems, and the electrical faults the car has stored as codes. You get the cause explained and the repair quoted separately.
Can you repair it at the same visit?
+
The diagnostic visit finds the cause and quotes the repair as its own estimate. Once you approve it, the repair appointment is scheduled and the technician brings the parts for that repair.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
