EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor

Yes, we replace ignition coils where the car is parked

The technician brings the ignition coil parts for your car to your home or office and replaces the coil or coils approved on the estimate. They reconnect the coil boots and electrical connectors, clear related trouble codes, and do a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.

Not sure it is the ignition coil?

An ignition coil replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the ignition coil is the problem, book Diagnose Check Engine Light instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.

Is it the ignition coil? Signs to watch for

  • The engine shakes at idle, then smooths out as you drive.
  • The car jerks or stumbles when you press the gas.
  • The check engine light is on after a misfire.
  • The check engine light flashes while the engine is running rough.
  • Power drops when you climb a hill or merge into traffic.
  • The engine feels uneven at a stoplight.
  • The exhaust pops or sounds uneven during acceleration.
  • You smell raw fuel from the exhaust after the engine misfires.
  • The engine starts hard, then runs rough for a few moments.
  • It runs worse after rain or damp weather because spark is leaking from the coil boot.

Ignition coil, spark plug or fuel injector?

The ignition coil makes the high voltage that fires the spark plug. A bad coil can make a cylinder misfire, especially under load. A worn spark plug can cause the same rough running, and a fuel injector can also make a cylinder run wrong by adding too much or too little fuel. If you are not sure which part is causing the misfire, book Diagnose Check Engine Light instead of Ignition Coil Replacement.

What happens if you wait

A weak ignition coil can misfire more often as it heats up. Unburned fuel can enter the exhaust and overheat the catalytic converter. The engine may keep shaking, lose power, use more fuel, and set more trouble codes. Replacing the bad coil helps the cylinder fire the way it should.

What it costs, and how the price is set

Ignition Coil Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your vehicle's year, make, model, engine layout and which ignition coil option is quoted. It includes the ignition coil parts, labor, clearing related trouble codes, a complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC Service Warranty.

Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace the ignition coil in my parking garage?

+

Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.

Should I replace spark plugs with ignition coils?

+

Spark plugs and ignition coils work together. If you want Spark Plugs Replacement done at the same visit, add it to your request so it is quoted on the same estimate. Work that is not on the approved estimate is quoted for a later visit.

Do you remove a broken ignition coil stuck in the engine?

+

No. EZ Car Clinic does not offer removal of a broken ignition coil.

How long does an ignition coil replacement take?

+

Usually about an hour. It depends on the vehicle's year, make, model, engine layout, how many coils are being replaced, and whether the coils sit under an engine cover or intake parts.

Do I need to be there?

+

Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.

Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?

+

No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.

Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.

If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

+

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.

Can you replace a single ignition coil instead of the full set?

+

Yes, when the single ignition coil option is on the approved estimate. Some cars are quoted for a bank or a full set because of access, age, or the way the coils are packaged for that engine.

Will a bad ignition coil turn on the check engine light?

+

Yes. A failing ignition coil can cause a misfire that turns on the check engine light. If the light is on and you are not sure the coil is the cause, book Diagnose Check Engine Light instead.

Can I drive with a bad ignition coil?

+

A short drive may still be possible if the engine runs smoothly, but a misfiring engine can damage the catalytic converter. If the check engine light is flashing or the engine is shaking hard, do not keep driving it.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

+

Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.

How do I pay?

+

EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.

What does the ignition coil warranty cover?

+

The EZCC Service Warranty on the ignition coil is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
