Not sure it is the CV joint or U joint?
A CV Joint / U Joint Replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the CV joint or U joint is the problem, book Diagnose Unusual Sounds instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the CV joint or U joint? Signs to watch for
- A sharp clicking noise comes from the front wheel area when you turn.
- The clicking gets louder during tight turns in a parking lot.
- The car clunks when you shift from reverse to drive.
- You feel a thump from under the car when you start moving.
- The car vibrates under acceleration, then smooths out when you lift off the gas.
- A chirping or squeaking noise comes from the drive shaft area while moving.
- You see dark grease slung around the inside of a wheel.
- The steering wheel shakes while the car is pulling under power.
- A clunk happens when you go from gas to coast and back to gas.
CV joint or U joint?
A CV joint sits on a drive axle near the wheel. It lets the axle turn while the suspension moves and the wheels steer. A worn CV joint often clicks on turns, and a split boot can throw grease around the wheel. A U joint sits in a drive shaft. It lets the shaft work at an angle. A worn U joint often clunks when the load changes, chirps while moving, or causes a vibration under acceleration.
What happens if you wait
A worn joint gets looser as it runs. A CV joint that has lost grease can wear the axle splines, boot area, or nearby seal surfaces. A U joint that binds or has play can beat up the drive shaft yoke and create more vibration. Waiting can turn a joint job into a larger axle or drive shaft repair.

What it costs, and how the price is set
CV Joint / U Joint Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on the year, make, model, which joint is being replaced, and where that joint sits on the vehicle. It includes the CV joint or U joint parts, labor, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-month / 12,000-mile Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car and the option, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the CV joint or U joint in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Can you replace a U joint on a drive shaft where it is parked?
+
Yes, when the U joint is serviceable and the correct parts are on the approved estimate. Some drive shafts use joints that are not serviced separately, and those may need a drive shaft repair instead.
Can both sides be done at the same visit?
+
Yes, when both sides are added to your request and both are on the approved estimate. The technician brings the parts for the approved work. Work that is not on the estimate is quoted for a later visit.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the CV joint or U joint warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the CV joint or U joint is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
Is a clicking noise when I turn a CV joint?
+
A sharp click during turns is a common CV joint symptom, especially from a front axle. Other parts can make noise too, so book Diagnose Unusual Sounds if you are not sure the CV joint is the problem.
Should I book this or CV Axle / Drive Shaft Replacement?
+
Book CV Joint / U Joint Replacement when you already know the joint itself is the repair being requested. If the whole axle or drive shaft is being replaced, request CV Axle / Drive Shaft Replacement instead.
How long does a CV Joint / U Joint Replacement take?
+
Usually two to four hours. It depends on the year, make, model, engine, where the joint sits, and whether other parts have to come off to reach the axle or drive shaft.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
