EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor
Yes, we do Thermostat Replacement where the car is parked
The technician brings the thermostat, coolant and listed parts to your home or office and replaces the thermostat where the car is parked. They drain and fill the coolant needed for the job, purge air from the cooling system and do a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.
Not sure it is the thermostat?
A thermostat replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the thermostat is the problem, book Diagnose Engine Overheat instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the thermostat? Signs to watch for
- The temperature gauge climbs higher than normal while you drive.
- A temperature warning comes on and the engine feels too hot.
- The heater blows cool air even after the engine has been running.
- The engine takes a long time to warm up on cold mornings.
- The temperature gauge stays low during a normal drive.
- The temperature gauge moves up and down instead of staying steady.
- The cooling fans run often because the engine is hotter than normal.
- Coolant pushes into the overflow tank after the engine gets hot.
- The engine light is on with a coolant temperature or thermostat code.
- Fuel mileage drops because the engine is running too cool.
Thermostat or coolant temperature sensor?
The thermostat controls coolant flow through the engine and radiator. When it sticks closed, the engine can overheat because coolant cannot move through the radiator the way it should. When it sticks open, the engine may run too cool and the heater may stay weak. A coolant temperature sensor problem is different: the engine may warm up normally, but the gauge, warning light or engine computer gets the wrong temperature signal.
What happens if you wait
A stuck thermostat does not control engine temperature correctly. If it stays closed, heat builds in the engine and pressure rises in the cooling system. That can push coolant out and stress hoses, the radiator and engine gaskets. If it stays open, the engine runs too cool, the heater output drops and the engine computer may add extra fuel.

What it costs, and how the price is set
Thermostat Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The estimate depends on your vehicle's year, make, model and engine, and on whether the thermostat is separate or built into a housing. It includes the thermostat, parts and labor, draining and filling coolant, purging air from the cooling system, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC 12-Month / 12,000-Mile Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. A deposit may be collected online when you approve; the balance is due when the work is done, online, by card in person, or in cash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the thermostat in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Will Thermostat Replacement stop overheating?
+
Yes, when the thermostat is the cause of the overheating. Overheating can also come from low coolant, a leak, a fan problem, a water pump problem or a clogged radiator. If you are not sure, book Diagnose Engine Overheat instead.
Do you add coolant with Thermostat Replacement?
+
Yes. Thermostat Replacement includes draining and filling the coolant needed for the repair and purging air out of the cooling system.
How long does a thermostat replacement take?
+
Usually one to two hours. It depends on your vehicle's year, make, model and engine, and where the thermostat sits. Some sit near the top radiator hose, while others are tucked behind the alternator, intake parts or covers.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
Can I drive with a bad thermostat?
+
If the temperature gauge is hot or a temperature warning is on, do not keep driving. Let the engine cool before it is moved again. Driving an overheated engine can damage gaskets and other cooling system parts.
Can Thermostat Replacement fix weak heat?
+
Yes, when the thermostat is stuck open and the engine never reaches normal operating temperature. Weak heat can also come from low coolant, trapped air, a heater core issue or an air door problem.
Do you replace the thermostat housing too?
+
Some vehicles use a separate thermostat. Others use a thermostat built into a housing. The written estimate shows which one your car uses.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the thermostat warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the thermostat is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
