EZCC Service Warranty on parts and labor
Yes, we replace EGR coolers where the car is parked
The technician brings the EGR cooler, removes the parts needed for access, replaces the cooler, and refits the exhaust and coolant connections. Related trouble codes are cleared if applicable. The appointment also includes a complimentary multipoint visual inspection. The price includes parts, labor and the EZCC Service Warranty.
Not sure it is the EGR cooler?
An EGR cooler replacement appointment is a repair appointment. It does not include testing or troubleshooting. If you are not sure the EGR cooler is the problem, book Diagnose Check Engine Light instead. The technician finds the cause and quotes the repair.
Is it the EGR cooler? Signs to watch for
- The coolant level keeps dropping, but you do not see a puddle under the car.
- White steam comes from the tailpipe after the engine warms up.
- The exhaust has a sweet coolant smell.
- The check engine light is on with an EGR flow or cooling fault.
- The temperature gauge climbs higher than normal under load.
- A low coolant warning comes back after you top off the coolant.
- The engine runs rough after startup, then smooths out as it warms.
- A reduced power message comes on during driving.
- You see soot or coolant staining near the EGR cooler area.
- The cabin heat fades because the coolant level is low.
EGR cooler, EGR valve, or head gasket?
The EGR cooler uses engine coolant to cool exhaust gas before that gas goes back into the intake. When the cooler leaks inside, coolant can enter the exhaust or EGR path, so you may see white steam, smell coolant, or keep losing coolant with no puddle. An EGR valve problem controls exhaust flow and can cause rough running or a check engine light, but it usually does not make coolant disappear. A head gasket problem can also use coolant and overheat the engine, so an unknown coolant-loss problem should start with a diagnostic appointment.
What happens if you wait
A leaking EGR cooler keeps taking coolant out of the cooling system. Low coolant can make the engine run hot, reduce cabin heat, and leave air pockets in the system. Coolant in the exhaust or intake path can also foul sensors and leave deposits in the EGR system. If the cooler is restricted instead of leaking, the car may stay in reduced power mode or keep setting EGR-related faults.

What it costs, and how the price is set
EGR Cooler Replacement is priced for your car on the written estimate. The price depends on your vehicle's year, make, model, engine, part access and the EGR cooler used. It includes parts and labor, replacing the EGR cooler, clearing related trouble codes if applicable, the complimentary multipoint visual inspection, and the EZCC Service Warranty.
Before anything is scheduled, you get a written estimate for your car, and you approve it online. The appointment is confirmed only when the estimate is approved, so the price is set before the technician comes to you. It changes only if you approve a change on site. Frequently Asked Questions
Can you replace the EGR cooler in my parking garage?
+
Usually, yes. EZ Car Clinic needs a parking spot for the service van close to your car. If the garage belongs to a building or HOA, confirm that the work is allowed before you book.
Is the EGR cooler the same as the EGR valve?
+
No. The EGR cooler cools exhaust gas with engine coolant. The EGR valve controls when that exhaust gas flows into the intake.
What if I am not sure the EGR cooler is bad?
+
Book Diagnose Check Engine Light if the main symptom is a warning light. Book Diagnose Engine Overheat if the main symptom is coolant loss or a high temperature gauge.
How long does an EGR Cooler Replacement take?
+
Usually one to three hours. It depends on the vehicle's year, make, model, engine, where the EGR cooler sits, and how much has to come off to reach it.
Do I need to be there?
+
Yes. Someone must be there to hand over the key and approve any change to the estimate. They do not need to stand by the car, but they are welcome to.
Are there any additional fees for weekend or same-day service?
+
No, we don't charge extra for weekend or same-day appointments. If our schedule allows, we're happy to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible at no extra charge.
Most services carry an on-site service fee to cover technician dispatch and travel to your location. This fee is clearly listed on your estimate.
If additional work is needed during your appointment, your technician will discuss it with you and provide an updated estimate for your approval before performing any additional services.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
+
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment; changes made within 48 hours are subject to a late-change fee under the booking policy.
Will EGR Cooler Replacement fix my check engine light?
+
It can when the EGR cooler is the cause of the related fault. The appointment includes clearing related trouble codes if applicable, but it does not include testing or troubleshooting an unknown check engine light.
Can a leaking EGR cooler make the engine overheat?
+
Yes. The EGR cooler has coolant running through it, so a leak can lower the coolant level and let the engine run hot. If the cause of the coolant loss is not known, book Diagnose Engine Overheat instead.
Can you replace the EGR valve at the same visit?
+
Yes, when it is on the approved estimate. Add EGR Valve Replacement to your request so it can be quoted on the same estimate; work not on the estimate is quoted for a later visit.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
+
Same-day appointments may be available when the schedule permits, but they are not guaranteed. EZ Car Clinic is an advance-booking service, not an emergency roadside or towing provider. Your appointment is confirmed only after you approve the estimate.
How do I pay?
+
EZ Car Clinic may collect a deposit online when you approve the estimate. The balance can be paid online, by card in person, or in cash when the work is done.
What does the EGR cooler warranty cover?
+
The EZCC Service Warranty on the EGR cooler is 12 months/12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage conditions and exclusions are explained in the full service warranty terms.
